Lignoccaine Hydrochloride
LIGNOCAINE HYDROCHLORIDE
Overview:
Lignocaine Hydrochloride, also known as Lidocaine, is a local anesthetic drug that numbs a targeted area of the body. It is used to alleviate or block pain during minor surgeries, dental procedures, or to ease discomfort from mouth ulcers, sore throats, or skin ailments.
Classification:Amide-type Local Anesthetic
Uses:
Lignocaine Hydrochloride is a drug that numbs the place to relieve pain. It finds common use in dental procedures, minor surgical operations, or even in problems such as mouth sore (ulcers), toothaches, and throat pains. More than that it may calm the itching, burning, or pain of minor cuts, a burn, or insect bites. When used as a gel, spray and cream, it is common that it disorients nerve communication in a flash, providing a fresh numbing situation to the spot.
How it works:
Lignocaine Hydrochloride works by blocking the messages in the nerves that signal pain sensation to the brain. This is by blocking the entry of sodium into nerve cells; this plays the key role of the transmission of nerve signals. When used topically or applied by injection in any zone, it numbs the region by inhibiting these pain circulations giving one momentary relief of suffering or distress in medical care giving or in painful disorders.
Dosage:As prescribed by your doctor.
Side effects:
Numbness that lasts longer than expected
Mild burning or stinging at the application site
Redness or swelling
Dizziness or lightheadedness
Drowsiness or tiredness
Precautions:
Before applying Lignocaine Hydrochloride, it is important that one sticks to the prescribed amount, and avoid in any case rubbing it into an already damaged or infected skin unless recommended by medical personnel. The drug cannot be consumed in large amounts especially by children because it can lead to some severe side effects. Tell your doctor of all heart, liver or kidney problems you may have and whether you have had an allergic reaction to any local anesthetic in the past, particularly any local anesthetic in the amide group. Remember that you should clean your hands (except in case of hands treatment) after applying the gel or the cream, and do not put it in your eye. Moreover, it is not to be the object of long-term use that is not advised when not medically monitored.
