Diacerein
DIACEREIN
Overview:
Diacerein is a drug applied to treat Osteoarthritis i.e., knees or hips. Not only does it alleviate stiffness in the joints but also in the long run slows the wearing out of the cartilage and alleviates inflammation making you move more freely.
Classification:Anthraquinone derivative
Uses:
Diacerein is also used in the treatment of osteoarthritis particularly in the weight bearing joint e.g. the hip and the knees. It is beneficial as it decreases the level of inflammation and slows down the process of cartilage breakdown, which can enhance the performance of the joint and relieve pain with time.
How it works:
The way Diacerein acts is by inhibiting a substance called interleukin-1 (IL-1) which is a very huge factor in inflammatory and degradation of joints and cartilages in Osteoarthritis. Taming this process, Diacerein slows the wear and tear of the joint, the pain and stiffness over the period of time, instead of temporarily hiding the symptoms.
Dosage: As prescribed by your doctor.
Side Effects:
Loose stools or diarrhea
Stomach discomfort or cramps
Dark-colored urine (harmless but can be alarming)
Nausea
Precautions:Prior to beginning the utilization of Diacerein, inform your specialist whether you had prior issues with your liver, digestion, or could easily create diarrhea since the medication may bother your gut, particularly during the initial days of use. Liver function tests may be required on a regular basis as part of treatment. And do not take it to combine with other laxatives or medications that grieve the guts. In case you observe loose stools persistently or have detected any symptoms of liver problem, inform your physician immediately.

Many people take it to reduce joint pain, stiffness, and improve mobility, especially in the knees, hips, or hands.
How it works:
Glucosamine functions by being a nutrient for the body to form and repair cartilage, the shock-absorbing cushion in joints. By fostering the development of cartilage, and the cartilage repair, it protects joints against wear and friction, decrease pain & stiffness. With time, this may help to enhance joint mobility and cause movements to become smoother, particularly in individuals with osteoarthritis.
