FUSINOL PLUS CREAM is a combination of Clobetasol, Fusidic acid, and Clotrimazole which belong to a group of medicines called Topical Corticosteroids, Oral antistaphylococcal antibiotic, and Imidazoles respectively. FUSINOL PLUS CREAM is used in the topical management of a wide variety of bacterial and fungal skin infections with associated inflammation in resistant and/or secondary bacterial infections.

Overview:

Clobetasol is a corticosteroid used to treat various skin conditions such as psoriasis, and contact dermatitis,eczema

Uses:

Treatment of skin rashes and itchy skin – all topical forms except shampoo

Treatment of moderate to severe scalp psoriasis – foam and shampoo only

Treatment of plaque psoriasis not on the scalp

How It Work:

Clobetasol works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers that make the skin red, swollen and itchy.

Precautions:

Cushing’s syndrome warning: Absorbing this drug through your skin can cause Cushing’s syndrome. This is an issue related to low hormone levels. Symptoms can include high blood sugar and high blood pressure.

Skin reactions warning: This drug may cause skin reactions. These include acne, inflammation of your hair follicles, color changes, rashes, infections, allergic reactions, and other problems. Skin reactions are more likely to occur if you cover your skin with a dressing after you apply the drug. You should not apply this drug to your face.

Skin infections warning: If you develop a skin infection while using this drug, your doctor may give you medication to treat the infection. If your infection doesn’t get better, your doctor may have you stop using clobetasol.

Warning for effects on your adrenal glands: This drug may cause your adrenal glands to stop working. This can lead to adrenal insufficiency. Symptoms can include dizziness, fainting, low blood pressure, and fatigue. This effect can happen during your treatment or after you stop treatment with this drug. Your risk may be higher if you:

apply this drug to a large area of your skin

use the drug for a long time

use the drug on broken skin

cover your skin after applying the drug

take other steroids

have severe liver problems

Fusidic Acid

FUSIDIC ACID

Overview:

Fusidic Acid is an antibiotic which is typically taken to treat skin infections that are bacterial in nature such as impetigo, infected wounds or soreness. It works at preventing the development of bacteria. It is normally in the form of cream or ointment that is applied to the infected site. Fusidic acid is non-acidic and has been found to be safe to be applied both in adults and in children.
Classification:Fusidane antibiotics
Uses:
Fusidic acid has the use in treatment of bacterial skin infection, such as impetigo, infected wounds, sores and eczema with infected boils.
How it works:
The mechanism of action of fusidic acid is by blocking the bacterial protein synthesis. It restricts the signs of bacteria to make essential proteins, the growth and reproduction of the bacteria, which inhibits one protein called a factor of elongation G (EF-G). Without this protein, bacteria cannot survive and multiply and will help to get rid of the infection. It specifically acts against Gram-positive bacteria and there is a high efficacy against Staphylococcus aureus.

Precautions:

One should explain to his doctor in case he is allergic to Fusidic acid or any other drugs before it is used on him. The treatment should only be applied to the skin or open wounds should be avoided, as well as using the treatment in the eyes (except as an eye drop), or applying over large areas in extended terms. Handle with care by being careful not to touch your eyes, mouth, and the inside of your nose without being advised so. In case you observe more severe irritation, rash or redness stop using and contact your doctor. This medication should only be taken by expecting or breast feeding women at recommendation by the doctor.
