AMOXICILLIN / CLAVULANIC ACID (400mg / 57mg) SUSPENSION- DUO

This high strength pediatric antibiotic combines two elements: one is a penicillin-class antibiotic (Amoxicillin) and the other a beta lactamase inhibitor (Clavulanic Acid). This ratio of 7:1 has been developed to tackle moderate to severe bacterial infections in children, especially where bacteria have acquired resistance to standard antibiotics.

Indications & Usage

Pediatrics often prefer the 457mg/5ml combination for:

Acute Otitis Media: trouble and infection in the middle ear.

Respiratory Tract Infections: communities’ pneumonia and acute exacerbations.

Bacterial Sinusitis: pressing infection and pressure of the sinuses.

Urinary Tract Infections (UTI): infection of the bladder and kidneys.

Skin & Dental Infections: with signs of infected wounds, cellulitis, or severe industrial development abscesses.

How Does This Medicine Work: The Synergistic Attack

Mechanisms of Action

Amoxicillin (400mg): inhibits the formation of the bacteria and kills it.

Clavulanic Acid (57mg): Clavulanic Acid forms an irreversible covalent bond with the enzyme beta-lactamase present on bacteria resistant to amoxicillin. By doing so, Clavulanic Acid stops the enzyme from breaking down amoxicillin.

The No-fuss Guide on Reconstitution

Start with the ‘Pill’: Shake well first to make sure the powder flows freely into the syringe or cap.

Add the ‘Water’: The suspension should be added through the top of the bottle two-thirds of the way up the mark. Close the bottle tightly and ensure the sucrose is off the walls and at the bottom.

Place the ‘Water’ uptil the Top-line: Add the remaining two-thirds water almost up to the ring on the bottle. Shake and shake some more until the suspension is homogeneously opaque.

Leave it for ‘Little Time’: For 5 minutes, keep it standing there and then administer first.

Storage: After dilution, the unchanged suspension must be refrigerated. Add similar texts for substituted ones. It may begin after 7 days of use.

Parent Friendly Information

Feed Me: During meals is the best time for getting the child to take the syrup. Fatty foods enhance the absorption of clavulanic acid hence significantly decrease the risk for stomach upset or diarrhea.

Precisely Longer: Always take the measure with an over-the-counter measuring spoon or medicine cup and avoid using a kitchen spoon, as its size might result in taking a lot or much lesser than the exact quantity.

Finish All the Course: Always complete the course. Do not stop it just because you feel better. This can cause the growth of resistant bacteria, predominantly the causative microorganism in potential later recurrent infection.

Safety Information & Precautions

Allergies: This should not be given to a child with a history of allergy-penicillin, cephalosporin-related. Allergy: “Mono,” i.e., glandular fever, is also an obstacle to giving the product.

Liver/Kidney Health: Please be sure to inform the doctor if the child has ever been detected to have liver/kidney months prior, as appropriate doses may have to be used on the child.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Q: Why this amoxicillin and clavulanic acid is called a “-Duo” or “two-times-daily” concentration?

A: Intended for two-times-daily (every 12 hours) dosing, this 400/57 product is designed to be used two times daily shows improved regulatory efficacy at the particular 7-1 ratio with fewer numbers of diarrhea episodes than with three doses.しかでもでは、イベントや展示会などが1日おきに行われます。 この特定の比率における2回的服用がそのためかなるためオーサーネス量を好きり方に小さめの下痢率をもたらすといったその省をて果ます

Q: What happens if my child misses a dose?

A: Go ahead and administer the dose. However, if it is nearly time for another dose, you should skip that dose as it is not advisable to administer a double dose within a 4-hr time frame.

Q: Is it fine to mix the syrup with milk or juice?

Q: Why does the liquid turn color after a few days:

A: Either the Clavulanic Acid oxidizes to turn the suspension brown, or they store it at ambient temperature below 30 degrees. If the suspension is brownish, it needs to be thrown out, as no efficacy can be used.
