A common example of an antibiotic that has been used to combat a wide gram of bacterial infections is Azithromycin. It is frequently employed in the treatment of infected chest, throat, ear, skin and reproductive system infections. It prevents bacterial growth and thus relieves symptoms and creates a faster recovery. Azithromycin is one among the group of antibiotics known as Macrolides.
Classification: Macrolide antibiotics

Some of the sexual infections to treat include chlamydia and gonorrhea.
Sometimes it is prescribed to prevent infection in doctors-advised medical conditions.
How It Works:
The action mechanism displayed by Azithromycin is that it prevents proteins synthesis by bacteria to grow and multiply. When the bacteria has stopped to spread, your body immunity can then step in and get rid of the infection thereby healing you at a faster rate.
Side effects:
Mild stomachache, nausea or diarrhea.
Headache or dizziness
Alter sense of taste or turn into anorexic.
These are effects that are normally short lived.
However, in case you feel something out of the ordinary and serious such as allergic reaction or yellowing of skin, notify your doctor at once.
Precautions:
Beforehand, let your doctor know of liver or kidney problems, heart-related issues or allergy toward antibiotics. Never take antacid(s) with aluminum or magnesium within two hours of Azithromycin- they can reduce the action of the drug. inquire your physician whether you should remit any of the medicines or supplements as long as you are under antibiotics since they can interact with medications. Precaution is needed when a person is a mature and/or has heart rhythm disorders.
