How Pyrithione Zinc Works

Pyrithione Zinc inhibits Malassezia growth, a yeast Malta-form of fungi living on the scalp. It cuts off the fungal cell membrane transport system, preventing the excessive growth in skin cell numbers that cause flaking, itching, and redness.

Wet Hair/Skin: Wash area with some luke-warm water; make it completely wet.
Apply: Apply enough medicated shampoo or soap and make all the foam possible by massaging the foam while on the scalp.
Massage: Massage the lather onto the scalp or affected area and leave on for about 3 minutes; “Caution: Don’t wash it off right away; let the medication have a chance to work.”
Rinse: Rinse thoroughly with luke-warm or cold water.
Frequency: Apply at least twice weekly or according to doctor’s instructions.
