Regorafenib Tablets: targeted multi-kinase inhibitor for advanced oncology care
Regorafenib is a potent, small molecule oral multi kinase inhibitor that is used for certain advanced oncological conditions. It is most often indicated for people with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC), advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), especially when they have already received and used standard therapies. Usage and Administration Guidelines
- Keep a strict schedule: take Regorafenib exactly how your oncologist tells you. Do not raise it, lower it, or miss your dose just by yourself.
- Dosing cycle rhythm: it is usually given in a 4 week pattern, once each day for 3 straight weeks, and then a 1 week rest period where you stop the medication. Still, check your exact timing with your care team.
- Dietary Instructions: take the tablets all together, swallow whole with water, but after a low fat meal. A low fat meal is something under 30% fat, like toast with jam, cereal with skim milk, or plain fruit. Do not take it with high fat meals, since this can shift how the drug is absorbed, a bit tricky.
- Avoid Grapefruit: also, do not drink grapefruit juice, or use any grapefruit products during treatment. Grapefruit can interfere with how your liver processes the medication, so it might not work as intended.
