Travoprost (5 ml) Eye Drops 0.004%
Primarily indicated for treating Glaucoma and Ocular Hypertension.
Chemical Class: Prostaglandin Analogues
Description
Travoprost Ophthalmic Solution is a sterile eye drop designed mainly to lower high pressure in the eyes. Keeping you with either Open-Angle Glaucoma or Ocular Hypertension, this drug keeps your optic nerve safe by monitoring fluid from being drained out of the eyes. Untreated high pressure in the eyes not only gradually deteriorates vision, but also can eventually lead to irreversible eye damage.
The mechanism of action of Travoprost lies in increased outflow of the aqueous humor (an eye fluid) with peripheral contraction in small vessels and enhanced permeability of these vessels. Visceral inflammation is thus prevented.
Notable Benefits
- Efficient in control of ocular pressure: the extent of drop in the pressure is reported in hours (objective is to set Target Pressure within the fluctuation band).
- Once-Daily Dose: It decreases pressure for complete duration of 24 hours, which is required for the cycle rhythm.
- Long-term use: Genuinely ensures ongoing comfort.
