Trifarotene: The Next Generation Retinoid for Clearer Skin
Trifarotene is a revolutionary fourth-generation selective retinoid that functions as a modern retinoid. The first retinoid ever created to specifically bind with the RAR-gamma receptor, which serves as the body’s main retinoic acid receptor in skin tissue. The ability of Trifarotene to target specific areas of acne treatment enables it to produce strong acne treatment results while delivering less skin barrier damage than traditional acne treatment.
Primary Uses & Indications
The treatment successfully handles whitehead, blackhead, and inflammatory pimple cases that occur on facial skin. The FDA approved this treatment to specifically target acne outbreaks that extend across the chest, shoulder, and back regions where thicker skin presents more difficult treatment challenges. The method works by accelerating skin cell regeneration which helps diminish post-acne scars while enhancing overall skin tone.
Application Method – “Low and Slow” Approach
The “Low and Slow” approach should be followed to achieve maximum results with minimum skin irritation.
Cleansing requires you to use a gentle soap-free cleanser that you must apply to your skin before waiting 20 minutes to apply it.
A single pump delivers sufficient product to cover your entire face. Two additional pumps should be used to cover the chest and back areas.
The product should be used as a thin layer which needs to be applied one time daily at night while staying away from the eye area, lip area, and nostril area.
The application of a safe-to-use moisturizer which does not block pores should be applied after skin cleansing to protect against dry skin and peeling.
Safety & Precautions Guide
Category – Advice
Sun Exposure
High Alert. Trifarotene makes your skin highly sensitive to UV rays. SPF 30+ sunscreen needs to be applied each morning before entering indoor spaces.
Pregnancy
Contraindicated. The use of Trifarotene during pregnancy and conception planning should be avoided because it falls under the category of all retinoids.
The use of facial waxing, chemical peels, and harsh exfoliants that contain AHAs and BHAs should be avoided during the time of this medication.
Expect a “purge” or adjustment period during the first 2–4 weeks. The use of the product should continue unless users experience extreme skin irritation. The product has established usage patterns that users should anticipate to experience.
