Moxifloxacin

OVERVIEW

Moxifloxacin is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria such as pneumonia, and skin, and abdominal (stomach area) infections.

USES

Moxifloxacin is used in the treatment of bacterial infections and bacterial eye infections. It is also used in infections of the urinary tract, tonsils, sinus, nose, throat, female genital organ, skin & soft tissues and lungs (pneumonia).

HOW IT WORKS

It works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This prevents the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them.

Allergies to Ingredients. People who are allergic to any of the following should not take moxifloxacin.

Any other medicine known as a fluoroquinolone antibiotic or quinolone antibiotic

Any of the ingredients in the specific product dispensed
