Ketorolac Tromethamine

KETOROLAC TROMETHAMINE

Overview:

Ketorolac Tromethamine is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug used to control moderate to intense pain, usually after surgery or medical procedures. It works by reducing inflammation, which is a common cause of pain. It’s usually prescribed for short-term use, typically just a few days, because using it for longer can increase the risk of side effects.

Classification: Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID)

Uses:

Ketorolac Tromethamine is used to relieve moderate to severe pain and reduce inflammation, often after surgery, injury, or medical procedures. It helps make patients more comfortable and eases swelling in the affected area.

How it works:

Ketorolac Tromethamine is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibition. These enzymes convert arachidonic acid into prostaglandins, which trigger pain, inflammation, and elevated body temperature. By blocking prostaglandin synthesis, Ketorolac reduces pain, swelling, and inflammatory responses in the body.

Dosage: As prescribed by your doctor.

Side Effects:

  • Stomach upset or pain
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Headache or dizziness
  • Indigestion or heartburn
  • Swelling or fluid retention

Precautions:

When taking Ketorolac Tromethamine, it’s important to use it only for a short period, because longer use can increase the risk of stomach bleeding, kidney problems, or heart issues. People with stomach, kidney, or heart conditions should be especially careful. It’s also important to tell your doctor about all other medications you’re taking, particularly blood thinners or other pain relievers, to avoid interactions.
