Consisting of benzoyl peroxide, a potent antimicrobial and keratolytic agent, it is widely regarded as the “gold standard” for treating acne vulgaris. It works by allowing oxygen to penetrate deep into pores, effectively killing Cutibacterium acnes and accelerating the removal of dead skin cells and excess sebum, thereby preventing the formation of comedones (blackheads and whiteheads).
