Anastrozole is a medication used in the treatment of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, especially in postmenopausal women. How Does Anastrozole Work?
After menopause, the ovaries no longer produce estrogens but instead allow an enzyme called aromatase to convert other hormones (androgens) to estrogens.
