Overview:
Rivaroxaban is a medicine that helps prevent harmful blood clots by stopping a part of the blood from clotting too much. It’s often given to people who are at risk of stroke or who have had surgery to lower the chance of dangerous clots forming. It’s easy to take as a pill, but because it thins the blood, there is a risk of bleeding, so doctors keep an eye on it. How it works:
Rivaroxaban acts by inhibiting a key enzyme in the blood clotting process known as Factor Xa. This protein is important because it helps form blood clots.By blocking Factor Xa, Rivaroxaban prevents new clots from forming and stops existing ones from enlarging, reducing the chance of stroke, deep vein clots, and other clot-related problems.
