Overview:

Tadalafil is a medicine used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and symptoms of an enlarged prostate (BPH). It works by relaxing blood vessels, which improves blood flow to the penis for stronger erections and can also ease urinary problems caused by BPH. Common side effects are usually mild, like headache, flushing, or back pain, but people with heart problems or those on nitrates should avoid it.

Uses:

Tadalafil is mainly used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), helping men achieve and maintain stronger erections. It is also prescribed for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) to ease urinary symptoms like frequent or difficult urination. In some cases, it is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) to improve exercise capacity by relaxing blood vessels in the lungs.

How it works:

Tadalafil works by relaxing blood vessels. It blocks an enzyme called PDE5, which normally reduces blood flow in certain areas. By doing this, it increases blood flow to the penis, helping achieve and maintain erections, and can also improve urinary symptoms from an enlarged prostate or enhance blood flow in the lungs for certain conditions.
