The specialized medication Acetic Acid otic solution treats bacterial and fungal infections that occur in the outer ear canal. The condition known as “Swimmer’s Ear” occurs when bacteria infect people who swim in water bodies with high pH levels. Acetic Acid creates an acidic environment which prevents pathogens from surviving in the ear canal.
How It Works
The ear canal uses its natural acidic pH to create a defense system which protects against microbe attacks. The pH level increases to an alkaline state when water or debris gets trapped because this condition leads to infections. Application & Safety Guidelines
For maximum efficacy, follow these administration steps:
The Area Needs Cleaning: The process requires you to gently remove any loose debris or wax from the outer ear.
Positioning: The patient should lie on their side with the affected ear positioned to face upward.
Application: The required number of drops must be inserted into the ear canal. The head needs to be tilted for a duration of 5 minutes to allow the solution to reach deep inside.
The dropper tip should not touch your ear or any other surface to maintain its sterility.
Important Precautions
Perforated Eardrum: Do not use this product if you have a hole in your eardrum (tympanic membrane) or ear tubes, unless specifically directed by your otolaryngologist.
The application process causes a temporary stinging or burning effect which typically disappears within one minute.
Duration: You must complete the full treatment which your doctor specified because your symptoms will not completely resolve until then.
